Design Journey: From Readymetrics to Ready
The journey of creating Readymetrics started with a simple goal: helping companies retain talent by making career growth conversations more consistent and effective.
Understanding the Problem
We found that many employees leave companies because they feel stuck without regular career growth conversations with their managers. Most companies had frameworks in place, but they struggled with actual implementation. We saw an opportunity to create something that could make these important discussions more accessible and impactful.
After numerous design iterations, we launched our first prototype with a pilot group of 200 users at Unity. This initial design allowed managers to schedule 1:1 career conversations, embedding leveling frameworks directly into these discussions to ensure they were aligned with each employee's growth.

Simplifying the Workflow
We found that many managers preferred the simplicity of tools like Google Docs or Notion. The task was to combine the best of both worlds—essential HR functionalities with a straightforward, user-friendly experience.
After many design iterations, we fully integrated career conversations and team meetings with Google Calendar, turning every meeting into a real-time document. This let managers and employees collaborate instantly, creating a more interactive and engaging experience.
The scheduling tool automatically sent calendar event invitations, simplifying the process.
The Pivot
Ongoing user interviews revealed a broader need: people wanted to integrate all the tools they use for meetings directly into their calendar, not just those related to career conversations and 1:1s.
This vision became 'Ready'—a calendar designed to improve meeting efficiency. Initially focused on career conversations and internal meeting workflows, Ready has now evolved into a versatile tool that can connect any document—directly to your meeting notes.

Conclusion
We realized that meetings today are more scattered than ever, with people jumping between tools before, during, and after the meeting. Ready was our answer to this challenge, bringing everything you need for a meeting into one place.
With Ready, meetings start on time, stay on track, and finish with everything in order. What began as a tool for career conversations evolved into a fully-fledged calendar app that addresses the real challenges of modern meetings. Ready re-imagines the calendar as the central hub for all meeting needs, making meetings more connected and productive.
